Foreign contractors must register with CIDB Malaysia before starting any construction work in the country.

Once approved, youβll receive a Foreign Contractor Registration Certificate (Perakuan Pendaftaran Kontraktor Asing) which allows legal participation in construction projects.
β Basic Requirements:
Register a business entity with SSM (Sdn Bhd or LLP)
Minimum paid-up capital: RM750,000
Hire at least 2 Malaysian technical staff
Both must hold relevant construction degrees
One must have 5 yearsβ experience
π Required Documents:
Project offer letter
Degree certificates (technical staff)
Company financials (for foreign branch offices)
π΅ Fees & Validity:
RM50 processing fee
RM5,000 registration fee per project
Valid until project completion + 2 years (defect liability period)

Branch offices with no capital must submit financial documents from home country
